What skills have the biggest long-term pay off?

Critical-thinking skills.

I like to call this independent thinking or not depending on other people’s words, opinions, conclusions, or attitudes in general. It’s easier to mimic others than come up with an original idea. Conversely, it’s not easy and takes time to learn more about something — a concept, a lesson, a language, a skill. How do you practice this? Gather data, do the research, read literature that argues for and against one topic, and always ask open-ended questions like why and how. Learn to rely on your brain - it won’t disappoint you!

Flexibility.

Being flexible means you can adapt to change. Although it may seem easy to stay in the comfort zone (daily habits, knowledge you already possess), it’s better to keep going with the flow. Why is this important? The Greek philosopher Heraclitus famously said the words Panta rei (Πάντα ῥεῖ) which means "everything flows." The world is changing and you have a choice: adapt to it or be left behind. How do you practice this? Don't immediately resist something new just because it’s unfamiliar to you. Make small changes, adapt in small ways, try a new habit for 15 minutes a day.

Growth mindset.

You may think that your mindset is something you were born with, but it’s the opposite. Your mindset can change and adapt depending on how much you’re willing to learn and keep an open mind. Do you think you’re either talented or clueless at math or sports? Or do you believe you can make improvements consistently over time with increased effort? When you allow yourself the time to learn new things and practice getting better at something, you’re growing your mindset. How do you practice this? Try, try, and try again. Be OK with failure. Consider it your biggest ally, not an enemy.

Quantitative skills.

Get to know numbers in any shape or form. It can be as simple as practicing basic accounting skills (your daily budget, for example), or more involved like personal finance (how to invest and grow your portfolio, or how to invest for retirement) or data analytics (observing market trends, gathering statistical data which can tell a bigger story). Many people are afraid of math so they run away from it. If this is something you’re good at, keep at it. If you’re not, keep practicing. Why? It’s a highly marketable skill that can afford you better jobs in your career.

Writing.

You may think it’s easy to write; after all, we all use language and so we should know this skill, right? But you’d be surprised how few people really know how to construct a concise, clear, and interesting sentence. Grammar isn’t easy to master, either. Neither is diversifying your vocabulary. On top of that, you need to know your audience — their age group, cultural background, what they’re interested in, what they want to learn. How do you practice writing? Read books, not just online articles or Instagram posts, to understand what good writing looks like. Practice writing every day, even if it’s for 15–30 minutes. Get a thesaurus. Ask for feedback. Then practice some more.

What is a good way to have a good mindset?

NO MATTER WHAT, NEVER hate ANYONE

Always remember, NOTHING IS PERMANENT. Things WILL turn around someday. BELIEVE THAT

STOP COMPLAINING. Complaining is simply giving yourself excuses for your inaction.

STOP BLAMING EVERYONE FOR YOUR PROBLEMS. They are your problems for a reason. You could complain for years and no one will solve them for you or you could use a day or a week or months to take care of that issue.

BE CONTENT WITH YOURSELF AND WHATEVER YOU CURRENTLY POSSESS. Don't envy. Simply try to make your life better. ACCEPT whatever your life circumstances are currently. Then if you can change it, do so.

LET GO OFF EXPECTATIONS. Your kindness and goodness should come from a place love and abundance. Give freely and you will NEVER be disappointed.

Stop trying to change what you cannot control and take control over what you can. Stop trying to change people but instead try to influence them.

Try to live by yourself. Why? It will teach you how to take responsibility for yourself and how to be self-reliant. Plus you will appreciate people more.

NEVER QUIT whatever makes you happy unless you are uncomfortable doing it or it goes against your beliefs or is unhealthy for you. It is what keeps you sane. Mine is playing sports.

Help people out in the smallest of ways possible. It doesn't matter. Helping that man out with his load wouldn't be a bad idea. Getting that kid whose mother cannot afford that toy as his Christmas present would be fantastic. If it wouldn't break the bank. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THAT KID WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER and do similar for others in the future. And that's how you make the world a better place

Be grateful.

If I cut You off, chances are, you handed me the scissors.

What are some psychological facts about attracting people?

Do you feel attractive? — because it all comes down to how attractive you feel.

No matter what clothes you buy, what surgery you get — if you don’t feel you are attractive you will behave like it.

Change the way you perceive yourself — do you like your clothes, hairstyle, your posture, your walk?

Do what you think is attractive — it’s self-belief and knowing that you are worth being around.

It’s not that you feel attractive and it makes people like but what that does to your action.

You will act differently when you feel good about yourself.

It’s a two-pronged approach — feeling attractive and start taking action.

You start talking to people, you take the opportunity, you go out of your comfort zone.

Not hopeless action, trying to get some approval or affirming you are attractive — but both.

Believing that you are attractive and taking action — that’s where the magic happens.

Don't be available around the clock. You have to keep a little space between you. You may loss your value, otherwise.

Don't always pay ears to him/her. If whatever he/she says & you get agree to, soon you are going to loss your self-respect, & [of course] soon after your beloved. Trust me! this is so true!

If he/she wants to go from your life, let him/her go because he/she has already gone.

Don't tell all your secret. You don't know what comes next. Your secret can creat a problem for you.

Don't sacrifice your family for her/him. Your family comes first & everything else is secondary.

Born to express, not to impress.
