Baked Mussels by Sanegeal Farmhear
Baked mussels are a great appetizer for family gatherings. Here is my version of baked mussels:
Ingredients:
- 1 kg fresh mussels
- Lemongrass
- All purpose cream
- butter (more butter the better)
- 5 cloves garlic
- garlic powder
- cheese (eden or quickmelt) whatever available as long as it can melt
- rock salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Quickmelt cheese
Instructions:
1. Throughly clean the mussels and boil them in a pot with lemongrass. Half-cook. Better if chilled in the fridge afterwards.
2. Prepare the sauce that will be put over the mussel. In a sauce pot, melt the butter in a slow fire and then add the minced garlic until it turns into light brown in color. Add the all purpose cream. Add the shredded cheese until melted and mixed evenly. Add a bit of garlic powder, a pinch of rock salt and fresh ground black pepper.
3. Arrange the mussels in the baking pan. Add the made sauce. Lastly, put the shredded cheese.
4. Bake the mussels at 200C for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!
