My Favorite Films

Hi! I've been feeling a little like down lately these days so here I am. Writing to you about something. Since I've felt that nobody quite wants to listen and put up with my rants, I decided to expend that energy into something productive to do.

I would like to write about what movies had moved me which is one of the reasons why they are my favorite
  •  12 Angry Men (1957) - I probably have been an old soul in my previous life because though I belong to the Millenial generation, my tastes seem to be of conservative and oldies when it comes to clothes, music and apparently films. I was fascinated with how they had produced an entire film in one place. And how was I able to find this film? It was recommended by users in the IMDB website where it was included in the top films to see.
  • High Strung (2016) - I like it maybe because of the insights in the movie. Sometimes I used to wish that I've had ballet lessons instead of piano.
update as of July 8, 2017
  • The Boss Baby (2017) - I like this part in the movie where the protagonist makes an offer which the boss baby can't refuse. Very moving, I may say.

On Frizz Away Serums: Bench Fix, Glamworks, Vitress

So I basically I just woke up one day and decided that I have to change. I woke up feeling that I'm not contented with the way I look. Because as you might know, I used to not care about my appearance as long as it's convenient and comfortable. Why I chose convenience and comfort? Because it's easy and less costly. So you might be wondering what changed?

I want to feel good so I'm making an overhaul of myself. I've been successful in persuading my over worrying self that it's okay to splurge on things from time to time. No need to be stingy when it comes to self. Call it a turning point, but if it's for the better, it's better right? I pamper myself with make-up sporadically and I guess people tend to appreciate it but I don't do it consistently.

Anyway, I've been managing my curly frizzy dry hair with scrunchies because aside from it's hot and humid here, I want no hair on my face. I also use gel, my go-to product to pin up my hair in place but the downside of it is it's not healthy for the hair as it has too many chemicals and you have to wash it up. As for Vitress serum, sadly I experienced having dandruff though it smells good. Good thing that I tried Glam works Hair Serum for Heat Defense. It works out for me but I may say that it's a little greasy. If I remember it right, it costs for about 75 php at Watson's.

So let's see how will this product fare with other serums. It costs for about 109 php at Bench stores.

Till next time,

Movie Convo: High Strung

Hi. How's it going for you? I guess I'm pretty much okay. Pumped up a little. Aside from finishing reading the 3 parts of The Billionaire's Obsession 1 by J. S. Scott where it's all about the love story of Simon and Kara which I was currently obssessed in finishing it and which I did, I am doing a marathon of movies. I had finished watching Fifty Shades of Grey, How to Be Single and now High Strung which I'm not yet through. Anyway, I just want to share inspiring conversations from the movie and I hope it would inspire you too.

Ruby: Well you know, music is like dance. It's a link to the soul. It can make people laugh and it can make people cry. It...it can inspire! With a power like that, why wouldn't you want to share it with the world?
-------
Kramrovsky: Is everything a little alright? You danced it beautifully.
Ruby: I can do better.
Kramrovsky: You're too hard on yourself.
Ruby: I just want to be perfect.
Kramrovsky:And what happens when you've achieved perfection? You stop then? It's imperfections that keep us alive! Motivating us to push further and further.
-----
Kramrovsky: This is the problem. Stop trying to dance.
Ruby: But I'm a dancer.
Kramrovsky: No, no, you're not a dancer in this variation. You're a gypsy. You understand.
-----
Kramrovsky: Ruby, each time you conquer a step, there will always be another challenge waiting. It's a long road. It never ends! As dancers, this is our journey.

Car Dealer Simulator Game for Android

Hi again! I'm just as excited to tell you about my discovery for this day. As you might not know, I'm also a gamer.

Just when I thought I was about to give up, I found a way how to go over selling out cars in this CAR DEALER SIMULATOR game I've downloaded from Google Playstore. I've tried searching the internet out of frustration. I've found a tip/cheat alright but it was not applicable to what I want.

Here's an introduction for Car Dealer simulator taken from Google play:

In our game, you start out on the lowest rung of a car dealer’s career with a small initial capital and unlimited capabilities at your disposal. You can buy damaged cars, repair them, and sell them for profit or simply scout around for the most attractive offers on the marketplace in the hope of finding a car in perfect condition. As you play the game, you start gaining experience, and your business is growing rapidly. You can afford to buy more expensive cars. You learn how to diagnose mechanical problems and fix them cheaply.

If you also want to play this game, you can download it by clicking here.

Now, where are we?

Right. How to go over selling cars like a piece of cake.

You start off with a capital of 5000 and an energy of 500. In the beginning, you will be able to sell cars with no problem. But after some time in your succeeding endeavors, you will experience almost all have problems. So here are some tips I've learned while playing the game:

Tip # 1. As the tutorial says, go with the most profit.

Tip # 2: Ask for a discount from the owner. I usually go for 20% and below. But of course it would depend with how much will you make. If your profit is almost negative then ask for a higher discount.

Tip # 3. Before haggling, use the service diagnostics button. Yes. So that you can already know what problems are you going to get once you buy that car.

Cinnamon Tea-rrific!

Good morning to you too. Would you like some black tea with a dash of cinnamon and a teaspoon of sugar?  Since I've noticed that I've been hooking up on tea with a lot of creamer, I decided to try out drinking tea with a dash of cinnamon instead.

And I'd say it's good.

Words of the Wise from HighSchool King of Savvy

Hello! How was your day? I'm not really in a good mood today so I'm currently watching episode 3 of High school King of Savvy. This is a Korean drama. You could read the plot here.

I just want to share this conversation between the brothers in episode 2:

Lee Hyung-seok: There's no such a thing as an ally or enemy in this world. It's just a jungle. Don't you think the king of the jungle is a lion or a tiger? No. The last survivor... Hyena

Lee Min-seok: Don't make this difficult. Don't use metaphors.

Lee Hyung-seok: Don't trust anyone. Trust your instinct. That's your answer.

I wished I'd had a Hyung (Older Brother) or someone whose wise enough to impart these things early enough. But I guess, it almost always had been me to discovering it all. *Sigh*

Why we should write more truthful reviews

Why we should write more truthful reviews

Before I decided to write future reviews in this blog, I think I should come up with an introduction on reviews. The first question that popped up out of my mind today was why should we write and post more truthful reviews in the internet? I came up with the answer: people will be more informed what they are going to get and know what they are going to expect once they have availed the product or the service they've been eyeing.

Before I make any purchase of any kind, I always search reviews from the internet and mostly read from blogs and forums. In a very much developed technology that we have today, the internet has vast of information and reviews that we could utilize. In my experience, they've been very helpful. And I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the nameless people out there in the cyberspace who had taken their time to share their experiences.

Now the lingering question still continues, why should we write and post more truthful reviews in the internet? It's because in our own little way, we might make a difference in somebody's life. Who knows, your experience might save another one from regrets.

Let us rejoice Humility

In a world of egotistical people, keep being humble. When people tries to control you, push for your independence.  When the world rejoices on showmanship and you itched to be acknowledged and appreciated despite your introvertedness, keep being hidden despite being unacknowledged. Remember that the most precious gems are kept hidden in the valley of darkness. What really matters is how you think of yourself.

There was an article I've read last night about a mother talking to her daughter about a presidential candidate now presumably the next 16th president of the Republic of the Philippines, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. It was a long post and I'm still searching it on the internet but to cut the story short she tells her daughter that it doesn't mean that because he cusses means he is a bad person, neither a good person with good manners, does make him good. It should be what's within the heart that we must look on.

Till next time,

Why I Chose to Blog

Why I Chose to Blog

I've been blogging since I was high school I think, or was it around college?

Well anyway, I've been meaning to blog in order to tackle about my choices: on why I did that, on why I do this and what I'll be doing. So the first thing I'm going to discuss is my choice to blog.

What is a blog? From my point of view, it serves as a journal about something you might what to post which will be forever ingrained in the internet. You might want to share something about anything under the sun. I originally kept a diary since in my late elementary years or early year of high school but shifted to Microsoft Word which then eventually led into blogging. We have to upgrade into something better, IKR. ;-)

Anyway, blogging can serve as an outlet of your emotions and passion and I think blogging helps me better because I can organize my thoughts and ponder on things. whenever inspiration strikes, I have the eagerness to type it in and then later on I'd go back to my blog and read about my previous posts. Sometimes, I'm a bit taken aback whenever I read it again. I would think, "Cool. How did I end up writing like that 10 years ago?"

I want to blog because it also had been my distraction whenever I'm down. You could say that it had been a therapy for some problems I might be facing.

But as I've said, posts posted in the internet are not really deleted. So be careful on what you post. As a friendly reminder from GMA, a network station in the Philippines, you might want to keep in mind to "Think before you click".

Cheers to a New Tomorrow!

But I guess I am still ambivalent regarding tending out my formal letter for resignation. You see, my dad's return to his work is still uncertain and it makes me worry a whole lot. My mom said he'll return to work hopefully by April.

I'm still procrastinating, delaying things I've should've done already. And I still haven't got a clue what I'm passionate about and to tell you the truth, I'm rather jealous of my friends for living such lives. I know, I know. Life is what you make it.

NBI Renewal in the Philippines 2015

I'm currently taking a day off so that I can apply for a NBI clearance renewal as part of my work requirement. My name has a "HIT" which means my nbi clearance could not be released on the same day. :-(

As you know, or if you still don't know, NBI now doesn't take walk-in applicants and had to go online. But what if you don't know, or perhaps do know that but just went walk-in for adventure's sake? Oh my, that's risky and that's what I just did. (haha..)

Anyway, I went to the NBI Main Office in United Nations Avenue. Though I had an NBI satellite nearest my house, I dreaded the possibility that the release could be more than a week. I got a feedback from a co-worker that she got her NBI clearance which she applied from NBI Otis after 2 weeks. The max days I had before I got my NBI clearance was 7 days.

So okay, back to the story. I confirmed with the employee at the entrance if there are still walk-in forms and he said that NBI is now online. Don't worry if you had not gone online prior to going to NBI because they have a computer inside the NBI located at the back of the employees who are at the entrance and it's usage is free. But it may take some time as there might be other people in line too which by the way I had encountered so I had to be in line too. Good thing there were chairs. :-)

After 15-20 minutes of waiting, an employee was announcing "Baka mamaya pila kayo ng pila diyan. Pwede na yung may nbi 2014 pataas na pumasok. Pwede na din yung xerox." (Maybe you are falling in line there. You can proceed if you have NBI for 2014 and above. Xerox [referring to photocopy] is accepted.) Thank God I was able to abl0e to bring a photocopy of my NBI clearance. Lucky day for me. :-) And worrywart that I am, it might sure look stupid to some but to be better sure than sorry, I asked the employee if my nbi photocopy would suffice and he said yes with nodding gesture.

Next step - 3rd would be PAYMENT. Make sure you have an exact amount of 115 pesos (local employment) on hand as sometimes the employees are rude if you hand them a 500 bill. (Though I understand the dilemma if you had a series of customers who hand you 500 and 1000 bills) But of course, this doesn't change the fact that being rude just because of this is unacceptable.

The 4th step would be ENCODING located at the 2nd floor. There are reminders saying that you have to put your online reference number/deposit slip at the back of your official receipt. As for my case, I'd written my NBI ID number at the back of my receipt. NBI ID Number is found on your previously issued nbi clearance. When it is my turn, picture taking is done and then I was asked to get my clearance tomorrow. (Yey! This was the fastest on record)

However, since I had no off which is a weekday for this week I asked the woman if I could get it rather next thursday. The lady said that I could but make sure that I get it before 1 month expires.

And before I went out from the NBI, I asked another employee if someone could get my nbi clearance for releasing instead of me. He confirmed.

So there you go. Hassle-free way to get your NBI clearance for renewal. NBI Main is open from 8 am to 5 pm. Hope it helps.

Heroes and Villains

Nobody starts off as a villain.

They were sometimes the people who've tried to be good but due to unfortunate circumstances and twisted game of fate, succumb to their inner darkness.

We all have it: the good and the bad. Ebony and ivory. The hue of white and black.

-----

I guess I'm tired of feeling that as if my time, for others, is not precious at all. They make demands. And here I am, the silly thing who let them get what they want.

But as Eleanor Roosevelt says "No one can make you inferior without your consent"

Which leads me to the notion that is it what I'm thinking?

Probably.

I HAVE a CHOICE. Remember that.

Off to my laundry.

Dear future downcasted YOU

I just need to pour out my insights as I'm just overwhelmed with the things that's happening right before my eyes. Because I'll know, I'll go back to this entry and read this. Feel free to read this yourself if you're feeling down:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear future downcasted YOU,

The things you have are just temporary. Never be tempted with the ways of the world. Never deviate from the things that are most important to you. You're the luckiest because of the intangible assets that you currently have: family and friends that always have your back and have them yours, and fond memories that are in the truest sense, genuine. No one is perfect and life is never made to be perfect, but in your eyes, you can make them be. You may not be the most beautiful, nor the most brilliant of them all or have the most money out there in the world for you to live luxuriously or comfortably and rather think have the most unfortunate circumstances, but it's only temporary. Remember the wheel of destiny? You aren't always on the downside of things. All things needs to be balance. Where there's death, there's a new life. Where there is darkness, there will be light. Where there is sadness, there'll always be joy. Where there is emptiness, there will be always someone like God or something (I'm not referring to material things - maybe it's your PURPOSE in life perhaps) who will fill that void. You're given problems to conquer because you are a conqueror. You have all the support and the love you need. You just need to open your eyes and look around. Just like the things you're taking for granted. Trust me on this because my gut instinct tells me so. And most of the time what my instinct tries to tell me so, they always came true later on. Just remember to do what is the right thing though you're not even commended nor appreciated for it. Why seek appreciation from others when you have them yourself? Come on. Be kind and give yourself a mental pat for every good thing you do. Keep a diary and tell it how it made you feel. Later on, when you're feeling sad, skim down that notes and re-live that past. Dance. Do sports. It feels good to have that outbursts of endorphins. Remember this: every thing is just temporary. Negate negative emotions. Feel right through them but never hold. Let yourself subject to these emotions and charge it to experience so that later on you'll know how to manage the second it strikes again. I hope you'll the have the overflowing happiness in your life.

Till next time.

Sanegeal Farmhear

A Day off!

Day offs are nice. And it's the period of time when you let you're body recuperate from the stress you're getting from work. It's easy to abuse you're body when you're young because we would just take it for granted though we know it's bad for us. Old folks would always advise not to abuse your body because when you're older, all the things you do to your body will take it's toll on you.

And while I'm at home, I came across this website: www.playbuzz.com where the topic is all about Which Intelligence is Your Most Dominant? by Samantha Jones.

I came up with Intrapersonal. And I always came up with this type of intelligence.

Just sharing out my thought for the day.

I just missed writing.

CURIOUS with Epicurus

I want to share to you what I have watched recently. Actually, I watched it just last night.

It's about Epicurus on Happiness.

According to him, one way to be happy is to have:
  1. FRIENDS
  2. FREEDOM (which includes being financially free) and
  3. HAVING AN ANALYZED LIFE
On having friends, I think what he want to tell us is that it is not how many friends you have which makes us happy. Rather it is the authenticity of friendships that is what he was talking about. The way your friends can tell what are you thinking, the way they can see what are you feeling without uttering a single word, the way they pour out tough love when they think you're not making sense at all and the way they hug you when you simply need a hug.

On freedom, I think being free is very liberating. You can do what you want, whatever you please. But it is rather tricky because this needs to be tread carefully.

On having an analyzed life: I have a question for you. Yes, you. Do you have a happy life today?

I've always thought that it's not the material things that makes us happy, it's the way it makes us feel that makes us happy. I believe that the happiness that these things will provide are short-lived.

If I'm going to answer my very own question. Well errr,,,, maybe? Ha ha. I still have many issues in my life that I need to resolve. Fears that I need to confront. Emotions that I need yet to experience.

I aim for an authentic life. I aim for relationships which are true and genuine. I crave for a greater purpose and a meaningful life. I continuously seek out what makes me tick and what makes me stick.

Cheerio. Jingu.

A Post from the Past

I can eerily see what people can't see. It's as if I bear the gift to see their soul, motives subconsciously unraveling right before my eyes the more I get to interact with them.

However like everyone else I know, I too had my share of blind spots.

Irrational generalizations, biases and the like.

I'm finally living my life.

Kimbap/sushi making

Because I crave sushi/kimbap (though I have yet to try eating kimbap), I was inspired to make my own version.

Since I don't have any bamboo mat, I just improvised.

It's messy but it's fun.

Test and More Test

Good morning y'all.

This week has been busy and I got a text from the HRAD of the company I was applying for an exam and an interview last Thursday. I woke up at 5:15 am and came there before 8 am. I thought there was only one exam. I took 5 which consists of a language exam, myers-briggs exam, f-scale exam, abstract exam and the Guilford-Zimmerman exam. Luckily, I was able to be interviewed early and was able to finished at 3:30 pm. I thought that I wouldn't be able to get my requested documents from school.

Anyway, I was familiar with the Myers-Briggs Test. What caught my eye was the F-scale and the Guilford-Zimmerman test.

I tried taking the F-scale test online and it shows I'm normal.

A Cup of Tea

Tea. That is something that I like drinking. I like drinking tea in the morning, after eating meals or during mid-afternoon. I like drinking it when the weather is cold. Do you know that it is not called a tea if it is not taken from the plant Camellia sinensis? Otherwise, it is called a herbal infusion.

Drinking tea must have grown into me. 'Cause you know, I like it. Don't get me wrong. I also like drinking coffee. But for some unknown reason, it makes me sleepy. I get to have a quality sleep whenever I'm drinking coffee the night before. Too much milk and sugar? Maybe. However, I just remembered drinking coffee with minimal sugar and milk. Or wait, is it because it's mild? But how about the cold roasted coffee from Nescafe in a can? I kind of remembered that it was sweet yet it was effective for a pick me up.

So how did I start drinking tea? A couple of years ago, I was working part time on a grocery store and one of its perks is the freebies/samples. My supervisor gave me a sample of the Lipton milk tea powder and I just love it that it somehow inspired me. It made me think how they are able to make it because you know, it is a kind of pricey for my standard.

Days and months passed, I started drinking black tea from lipton. For some unknown reason, it just dawned on me to put a lot of creamer and sugar. Maybe it was the milk tea craze at that time. And yes, it tastes just as the lipton milk tea. I also tried adding milk from jasmine, earl grey, lemon and green tea but I still go back to the former. Black tea + loads of milk + sugar that is adjusted to your taste = Heaven.

One thing I like about tea is that I can drink it without milk and sugar. I've been trying to listen to my body and noticed that I tend to get susceptible to colds whenever I've consumed dairy products so as much as possible I stay away from it. When it comes to brand, I think the Gold Leaf brand is acidic. Lipton is a little expensive but their taste is okay especially their green tea. I like the Lyons brand. It’s throat-friendly. I tried their red tea, lemon tea, English breakfast, earlgrey tea which was good for colds, and I personally prefer its jasmine tea because it helps me relax. I used to drink it when it is cut-off day for the reimbursements because the week is stressful because I get load of papers that I need to process. Okay, I’m ranting but I’m grateful for that because I get to have my own mini-game version. I set goals and find it satisfying when I finished them at the set time.

Do you like drinking tea or coffee? If you're going to ask me if I was a coffee or a tea drinker, you've already got your answer. Have you ever notice that I used the word "like" a lot of times in this entry? Maybe "like" is not the right word. Maybe it's love.

Corn on the Cob: How to Boil and Eat It

So who's up for a corn in a cob, yo?

Haha. Trying to mimic a habit of Jesse Pinkman from the TV Series Breaking Bad (And if you have the time, you should check that out :)).

Anyway, do you like eating corn? I just love eating corn in a cob. I personally love it when it is a Japanese sweet corn and is taken in the stomach with a splurge of butter and minimal salt to taste. I've been meaning to do a grilled corn. Probably later. Oh... yum. Just imagining it makes me salivate now.

Funny how I used to boil it for about 30 minutes thinking that corn is slow to cook. The result: the water where the corn is boiled has turned deeply yellow and I get a bland taste of corn which I don't get to enjoy. So with a dilemma on hand, I look it up on the Internet and whoalah!! I found out that I was doing it all wrong!

So how do I boil it? The internet says it would take for about 3-5 minutes for it to cook. I would say that based on experience, it would also depend on how big or small where you'll boil it. Small pot - yes, it's true it takes 3-5 minutes but it may take quite longer if you're boiling it in a large pot.

How about the indication that it is done? If you have been fond of cooking vegetables (i.e. stir frying, boiling) and been watching them cook like I habitually do due to the notion that I might burn them if I leave them, you'll see that from dark green it turns bright green. The same goes with the corn with the exception of course that it's yellow.

After successfully boiling it, here comes the fun part: eating corn.

So how do you eat it? I don't like eating my corn messy. But I know you think it's ironic since eating corn on a cob especially with butter IS messy. It's just that I don't like any corn bits sticking between my teeth.

The remaining 4 layers of corn I need to gobble up.

Anyhow, this is how I eat corn: I pick out a part of the cob where I twist one it in a clockwise direction until it became loose. I work in one layer first until I consumed it all and then after that it becomes easy since I'll just have to put my thumb between the 2nd layer and move it to the right where the first layer was.

I know that it takes time and patience man but there's this adage: Patience is a virtue. Savor the moment and enjoy eating it.

Let's do Herb Gardening!

I love looking at plants. And who wouldn't? I've read somewhere that the authentic green is the most relaxing to the eyes. Having plants in your home and in the workplace will help to your relaxation too.

Oh, it just reminds me of my childhood days when I was still in the province.

My grandfather was a farmer. When I was young, we used to live in our grandparents house. During weekends, I would stroll outside and take the time to appreciate the beauty of nature.

I missed the crisp smell of the trees. The breath of fresh air. The invigorating feeling of nature.

------

And so I think the memory triggered my impulsive behavior that after attending the 9:00 am novena at Baclaran church with my mom, I went to take a stroll in Baclaran. And while having my own little adventure, I was able to walk on by a display of plants. At the spur of the moment decision, I purchase plants. Herbal plants in fact.

I was able to read about herbs recently and found it interesting. It can be used as a tea, an addition to our food in order to make it more flavorful, and can be used for aromatherapy and so on and so forth. Our ancestors have no access to high technology and medical advancements as we have now and they relied on herbs. It came as a surprise that though we have the latest technologies and the like, people are gearing towards ancient medical practice. I guess despite misconceptions and myths, there's something to look forward to in herbs. Did you know that the medicine digitalis was derived from the plant foxglove?

It actually is one of my childhood dreams to have a garden full of herbs and vegetables and fruits.

From left to right: Gotu Kola, Peppermint, Thyme

According to Kuya, it was 35 pesos per plant. But since I'm buying 3 pieces of assorted plants, I purchase these babies for 100 pesos.

And hopefully, these would sprout into marigold seedlings *crossing fingers*.

Hello people! Or probably just me. Anyway, I decided (and yet again) to start another blog.

Why?

I guess this is one way of distracting me and my over thinking brain from any depressing thoughts because you know, I'm on my 12th day of being unemployed. Ha!

Worry not, I'm just 24 and I chose to look on the brighter things in life.

So, sit back, relax and hopefully you can enjoy the complicated life ramblings and craziness of Sanegeal Farmhear. :)
